Flow of the Day
** times are approximate and flex according to the needs of the children

8:30 – 9am               Dropoff: children walk on their own two feet, carry their own belongings to the best of their ability to a coat hook; they receive lessons on how to hang their coat, take off shoes, and practice the Grace & Courtesy of Hello & Goodbye

9am – 11:30am       Morning activity period, including outside time. Children go outside daily, rain or shine.

11:30am – 1pm          Lunch, clean up, transition to nap
1 – 3pm                      Nap
3 – 4pm                     Open ended playtime
4:30pm                     Transition to home

A note about toileting: Toileting routines are built in to any transition. After drop off, children are invited to the bathroom. Before a meal, all children wash hands and are invited to practice the toilet. Before going outside, all children use the toilet. After coming inside, again there is hand washing and accompanying practice of the potty. The most crucial time for this practice is before nap, and of course when they wake up. Important for all these transitions is relaxation around time – there is no rush. Children develop at their own pace and are most successful when given ample time to process.
